Landing $25 million for a client

One of the world's largest and most innovative players in the water utilities market approached AIML about translating a $25 million proposal from English to French Canadian for a large Canadian city. The project was laden with industry jargon, the deadline was extremely time sensitive and short, and the translation had to be perfect. Not only was AIML able to turn the project around ahead of schedule, but the translation was flawless and the look and feel of the proposal prompted the Canadian city officials to mention that it felt like it was created by one of their own.

  • La Voz Local (The Local Voice)

La Voz Local was the first Spanish newspaper in central Alabama

    A distinctive newspaper

Rather than publish news stories, La Voz Local's focus and mission was to help Hispanics assimilate to central Alabama culture and become more accepted in the community. In addition to how-to articles in the paper, free assimilation classes were offered throughout central Alabama. Classes taught Hispanics how to open a checking account, register children for school, file taxes,  and complete other tasks.

    Bridging the communication gap

La Voz Local offered free English classes to Hispanics throughout central Alabama. English-speaking businesses placed advertisements in the paper and La Voz Local offered free Spanish classes to advertisers and their employees. Public libraries teamed up with La Voz Local to offer low-cost Spanish classes to the English-speaking community.

La Voz Local was debt-free by its third edition!
